SourceMeet Update to 0.9.9.7 released; now with TCP (HTTP) Communication support
You asked for it – now it’s here: Besides bugfixes and minor changes, SourceMeet provides a great new feature in the current 0.9.9.7 Release: TCP (HTTP) Communication support.
We are really excited about this new feature as it gives you the opportunity to use SourceMeet either with TCP or UDP. It’s up to you and your network policy on top of which protocol you want to transfer data within the SourceMeet Peer-to-Peer Overlay Network. Open UDP Port(s) are no longer required!
FAQs
How can I switch between UDP and TCP (HTTP)?
Open the Options Page (via the SourceMeet Project Group Explorer Toolbar or VisualStudio Main Menu: Tools/Options/SourceMeet) and select your preferred connection type.
Should I use UDP or TCP as preferred connection type?
In view of connection speed and reliability we strongly recommend UDP as preferred connection type.
I don’t know if my network/firewall settings support UDP or TCP traffic. What should I do?
We recommend using UDP as preferred connection type. During the connection process SourceMeet will validate if a UDP connection is supported. If not - a dialog will appear asking you to change to HTTP Tunnel.
